A couple of weeks ago, my dad, brother and I went to (breakfast first – Mimi’s) the nursery to look for fruit trees. It’s one of my new favorite places to go. Next time I’ll get some photos of the plants. :)

Top Row, Left to Right
- Breakfast at Mimi’s (Homemade Corned Beef Hash and a Ham, Egg and Cheese Crossaint)
- Chickens – not used for eating, but to sell fresh eggs. The owners let the chickens out at night in order to clean up the nursery (by eating the pesky bugs that harm the trees and plants).

Second Row, Left to Right
- These trees have several nests in them, mainly over-protective grackles, but also small songbirds. I just thought the combination was beautiful.

Third Row, Left to Right
- This peacock lives at the nursery; it’s been there for years and roams freely.
- First comes the chicken, then comes the chick! These adorable chicks were $2.95 a piece. My dad reminded me of the snakes and hawks and other deadly creatures in our “backyard”, so I put my $5 away.
- A couple of grackles flew up into this beautiful tree. I love the large trees because the neighborhood we live in is brand new, so trees are tiny and sparce. I snapped this photo to remind myself of what our yard will look like ….in ten years.

Bottom Row
- I’m still trying to figure out what specific dragonfly this is. I need to email The Firefly Forest for help.
